    Hockey Memories: Part One

    Monday, November 6, 2006, 09:27 AM [General]

I thought I would share some of my favorite hockey memories. I have several wonderful memories and even a few sad ones. Below are four of my favorites, in no particular order.

    1. My first Tulsa Oilers game, my hubby and I attended the first game of the 1993 - 1994 season. It was a exciting opening with fireworks and the unveiling of the championship banner. I don't remember who we played or if we won, I just remembered sitting on the edge of my seat, just loving what I saw on the ice. It was then that I knew I was hooked on hockey!

    2. Jan. 28, 2005 - Seeing Angela and Bill Ruggiero playing hockey together. It was such a moving experience. I got a chance to met their mother and see the two medals that Angela had won (of course now she has 3) It was also the first time my mother came to a hockey game. Actually it was the first time any of my family came to a hockey game.

    3. My third memory is seeing the Kabel brothers, Butch, Karson and Klage, on the ice together. I think it is one of my favorite memories because it was about family and my family means the world to me!

    4. Meeting Paxton, Helene and Xander Schulte. Paxton joined the Oilers in Dec, 2005 and I got the opportunity to get to met Paxton at the Christmas Party. I then met Helene and Xander at one of the Dinner with the Oilers and I invited them to sit with my at the next hockey game. The more I got to know them, the more impressed I was by them, especially Paxton's time in Belfast (more on that later)
